We asked you for your support for our friend and long-time Hooters employee Kelly-Jo Dowd and we got it!! The fundraiser held on Friday, August 26, 2005 held off a hurricane threat and dodged the rain for most of the day, but that didn't stop a huge turnout from helping a great cause. The activities included a silent auction, apperances by Ron Diaz and Lynn Austin not to mention great rock-n-roll by The Stranger Band. Finally, Thank You to all the Hooters girls past and present who turned out in powerful numbers to show support for their friend Kelly-Jo.
The “Roll Call”: A fundraiser in the honor of Kelly-Jo Dowd
Dear “Friend”:
We are writing to ask you for your support for our friend and long-time Hooters employee Kelly-Jo Dowd, who is once again fighting breast cancer. Kelly-Jo has worked for Hooters for over 20 years and most recently was the general manager at our Palm Harbor location.
On Friday, August 26, 2005 we are holding a fundraiser in her honor. The “Roll Call” will bring back some of the Original Hooters Girls as special guests and feature music, food, and a silent auction, all in Kelly-Jo’s honor. We will sell special edition Kelly-Jo Hooters t-shirts, with all proceeds going directly to Kelly-Jo and her family. To read more on Kelly-Jo’s story or to make a direct monetary donation, visit Charity for Women web site at www.charityforwomen.org. Kelly-Jo is the spokesperson for this non-profit organization.
This is where we need your help. We need some great, valuable auction items to bring in lots of money for Kelly-Jo and her family. Because of the advanced stage of cancer, she is unable to work and her husband, Mike, a school system employee, is off for the summer.
Any donation would be greatly appreciated and your help will make this fundraiser a huge success. Kelly-Jo has helped us and many others in the past and now she needs our help. Thank you in advance for your support. |
